California PAL Camporees

palcamp001

California PAL and the California State Parks Department have enjoyed a lasting partnership over the past years that have has allowed countless PAL youth to learn about and enjoy California's vast natural resources and beauty. One of the primary ways this is accomplished is through the Northern and Southern California Camporees, which are held towards the end of the summer or in early autumn and give PAL youth a chance to discover nature.palcamp002

The Southern California Camporee is normally held at Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area in Hesperia, CA. and the Northern California Camporee is normally held at the San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area near Los Banos, CA.

Both Camporees's provide the PAL youth with various activities that are held in rotations so that all youth have a chance to participate. Some of the most popular activities include swimming, fishing and kayaking. Many of the kids attending the Camporees have ever been camping or have participated in outdoor activities of this sort.

By bringing inner city or suburban youth to the great outdoors, California PAL is introducing them to variety of activities that they could never do at home.
