Junior Giants Baseball

California PAL has enjoyed a close partnership with the San Francisco Giants Major League Baseball Team over the past decade and we have worked closely together with the Giants Community Fund which sponsors an excellent youth activitiy called the Junior Giants Baseball Program.

Over thirty PAL or SAL chapters from far Northern California all the way to Bakersfield are sponsored by the Giants Community Fund to run a Junior Giants program within their communities.

Junior Giants is a coed non-competitive baseball program that is designed for kids between the ages of 8 and 14 years of age.  The San Francisco Giants provide the various PAL chapters with all of the necessary equipment such as baseball bats, baseball gloves, baseballs, pitching machines and training for the coaches and managers. In addition each Junior Giants player receives an official Junior Giants Baseball shirt and a Giants baseball hat plus a free ticket to one of the San Francisco Giants home baseball games.

The Junior Giants program shows what positive things can happen with collaborations with professional sports teams and PAL.  We look forward to continuing to work with the San Francisco Giants and hopefully someday expanding the program to include other major league teams.
