CALPAL News & Events

• California PAL - Life After High School 2010 - On August 8th - 10th California PAL held its annual Life After High School youth conference at California State University, Fresno.  Over 300 at-risk high-school age PAL youth and their chaperones spent the four days living on the Fresno State campus and attending very important training classes to better prepare them for graduating high-school and becoming an adult.  California PAL has been putting on the Life After High School program now for seven years and as a testament to the programs success, many of the those kids that attended in the past are now graduating college and giving back to their communites.  We are already planning our 2011 Life After High School event and CALPAL really needs your support to make it happen.  Your charitable gifts to CALPAL will allow us to reach even more kids and give them the opportunity to be successful in their future.  To make a tax deductible charitable contribution to California PAL, just click on the Donate Online link! • California PAL Day at the Dallas Cowboys Training Camp - On August 17th, 2010, over seventeen PAL chapters from throughout Southern California and the Central Valley attended the CALPAL Day at the Dallas Cowboys Training Camp which was located in Oxnard, CA.   Over 500 PAL kids had the opportunity to go down onto the sidelines of the Cowboys practice fields and watch them run through their drills and team practice.  After practice was over the kids were able to go out on the field and meet team owner Jerry Jones along with a number of Cowboys players like star QB Tony Romo.  The kids were able to meet the players and get autographs as well.  This was a great opportunity for our PAL kids and we would like to thank the Oxnard PAL for coordinating and providing lunch along with the City of Oxnard and the Oxnard Park and Recreation staff that helped to make this happen.  Please click on the following link to see a video about the CALPAL Day at the Cowboys Training Camp.

• California PAL "Fall-Ball" Girls Fastpitch Softball Tournament,  September 11-12, 2010 in Vacaville, CA. hosted by Vacaville PAL.  This tournament is open to PAL and non-PAL teams.
• California PAL SOCAL Fall Classic Basketball Tournament, October 9 - 10, 2010 in Montebello, CA. hosted by Montebello PAL.
  
• California PAL Fall Training Conference & Business Meeting, October 17-20, 2010 in Napa, CA.
  

• Our 2011 events that are in the planning stages include our 2011 Youth Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA. and the 2011 California PAL State Cup Soccer Tournament next spring.  Stay tuned for other upcoming events!
