California PAL Snow Play Day

PALSP003 The state of California is blessed with a huge variety of geographic features and climates. From the Redwood forests in the north to the High Deserts in the south, the diversity of our state truely gives our youth an outstanding opportunity to experience new places and things.

The majestic Sierra Nevada mountains provide California with unique opportunity for PAL kids to experieince snow and over the past decade, California PAL has run a programs that allows PAL youth with the chance to have a fun filled day playing in the snow.

PALSP002 The California PAL Snow Play Day is held in late winter and over the past few years we have held the event at the Leland High Sierra Snow Park in the central Sierra Nevada mountains.

Arriving in the morning, many of the PAL kids have never seen or been in the snow before and they are treated to a fun filled day of sledding down the slopes in a safe supervised environment. With snowball fights, snow angels and some serious snowman building galore, PAL youth that otherwise would never be able to visit the High Sierra are treated to an experieince that will last a lifetime.

After an exhausting day of sledding and snow play, the kids are tired but glowing with the satisfaction that they were able to get out of their communities for a day and have alot of fun, all thanks to California PAL and our youth enriching programs that truly make a difference.
